Harrah's
Harrar's history begins back in 1937 when Bill Harrah opened his first bingo parlor in Reno, Nevada. The company was developing rapidly and now is operating 26 casinos in the United States, majority of which bear its brand name. From the beginning it stood for interaction between the casino and the customers. The principle “Everything for the client” remains the same till nowadays. It combines excellent services and products, technological progress and fast operating, not mentioning loyalty programs for new and old customers.
About a year ago Harrah's made a great step towards strengthening hand on the gambling market. It signed a contract and bought Binion's Horseshoe Casino for approximately $1.45 billion. This brand is recognized almost everywhere and plays a very important role in the history of the WSOP. Really, it was the place where Benny Binion first invented and worked out all idea of the World Series. This casino had been home of the tournament for more than 30 years.
Horseshoe Gaming Holding Corp. had liabilities to Harrah's worth about $20 million. The casino affairs were on a down-grade, and it even closed for a while but was reopened not long ago. After signing agreement Harrah's received not only casino but trademark - it gained possibility to use Horseshoe name outside Nevada.
Of course, main value for Harrah's is that the Horseshoe holds the WSOP tournaments. This year more than five thousand players are expected to participate in and total prize sum is more than $20 million. It will be held in Harrah's casinos and two final playoffs are planned to be in the Horseshoe casino.
